Grace chats with Nina and Uma, teen climate activists in Vancouver, British Columbia, about speaking at City Hall, centering justice and intersectionality in the climate movement, and discovering the courage to speak up. They talk about how the movement has been a space to grow and connect outside of typical social constraints.
Call to Action
In honor of Nina and Uma, and the courage they’ve shown to testify to their government representatives, today’s call to action is to contact your representative. It’d be wonderful if you could show up in person, or call, but if not—please send an email. And again, make it social. Get your friends to call with you or to show up in person with you. I’ve posted some links to get you started. Climate advocacy groups often have time-sensitive campaigns that are greatly boosted when the public reaches out to their representatives—keep an eye out for those! Below are more general tips for reaching out to your representatives about climate change.
